Woodlawn is more than just a museum; it is Ellsworth's largest public park. It is truly a part of the community, and we invite you to come and enjoy the park, gardens, and grounds which are open year round, sunrise to sunset.

Get Involved at Woodlawn and help Preserve the Past.

Woodlawn Community Garden, now beginning its 4th season provides individual plots for anyone who has no space for a vegetable garden for any reason, but who wants to raise food for themselves and others. The plots are offered at no cost, but all gardeners agree to join in spring and fall work parties and to donate any vegetables beyond what they can use to feed the hungry. The garden is surrounded by deer fence and is connected to the parking lot by a wooden walkway.

The Community Garden receives support from University of Maine Cooperative Extension and its Master Garden Volunteers, Union River Health Communities Coalition, Maine Community Foundation, Ellsworth High School Key Club, Rotary Club, Farm School Network, and Hancock County Planning Commission.

For more information on the garden or to apply for a plot, contact Kay Wilkins, Community Garden Coordinator, or call the museum at 667-8671
